Before Jesus was crucified, He was sent to a Roman leader named Pilate.

People who wanted Jesus killed were complaining that Jesus claimed to be a king.  That would have been an unacceptable threat to the Roman empire.  So Pilate was trying to figure out if Jesus truly had claimed to be a king.

Jesus said to him, “You say that I am a king.  In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth.  Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” (John 18:37) Jesus was born, was crucified, and rose again to serve as evidence of the truth that God loves us and wants to save us.

I encourage you to pull out your Bible today and read from the Gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John.  The words and life of Jesus will be life to your soul.  Let His truth fill you today.
