The Lost Sheep
He won't give up, no matter how far we wander.
Have you ever seen the image of Jesus carrying a sheep on His shoulders?
It is an artist's depiction of the parable of the lost sheep. This is a story Jesus told to a group of religious leaders who were muttering against Him because he was a friend to so-called sinners.
In the story, the shepherd loses one sheep out of 99. But he leaves the 99 to go after the 1. When he finds the one he calls his friends and neighbors to celebrate with him.
This story is brilliant; Jesus reveals the truth of their situation to the leaders. We are all ones. We all need to repent.
We all need to see ourselves for who we really are, lost ones who Jesus is searching for. He won't give up, no matter how far we wander.
